It's just not a very good script. Just watched it again and... yeesh. None of the dialogues are interesting. None of the jokes really land. The "one liners" are all pretty lame or have no real weight to them. The pacing and "plot twist" was bizarrely done. The action scenes seem to entirely miss the basic foundations you need to make them interesting. It did some real cringe shit a couple times too, like any screen time it gave Maria's kid. It's real rough. This thing needed to be punched up a bit more before getting the greenlight.
