BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA: A 38-year-old teacher's aide from Pennsylvania has died by suicide in front of a 14-year-old male student, whom she was accused of sexually assaulting. Jennilynne Derolf was arrested on July 15, 2021, with allegations of sexually assaulting the teenager from her school. She was charged with felony counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault, and institutional sexual assault, apart from misdemeanor counts of indecent assault and corruption of minors. During the investigation into Derolf's alleged abuse last month, the juvenile told authorities that he and his teacher's aide would exchange messages through a mobile messaging app and meet up at a nearby park, according to a criminal complaint obtained by PEOPLE. The boy said that in June, his relationship with Derolf turned romantic, and in July, they engaged in sexual intercourse in her vehicle three times, the complaint alleges. Derolf was released on bail on July 23, 2021, after which she again started meeting with the student secretly. On August 22, the boy's family contacted the police and reported about her secret meetings. As the cops reached the rendezvous, Derolf reportedly shot herself dead with a gun. The entire episode unfolded in front of the teenager. That said, I'm glad the abuser made the choice to kill herself. It's a good thing. People who prey on children shouldn't be humanized. This is the equivalent of an insect dying.
