In fact we're told to stay off the roads unless it's an emergency. One year I was the only person in the building since I only live 1/2 mile away. It would be hard for me to make a definitive choice of which season I prefer more. The not having yard time part is nice cause officers gotta be on the yard when they are so if you get stuck in a dorm you are alone as a officer in that dorm for a long period of time.
