They have decided not to shrink the stop radius. I guess a lot of people lost interest in the game or maybe it was the social media outrage that did it.
In any case I'm not gonna applaud them for fixing the situation they put themselves into --- Talking about video games? it's ok to just disagree with each other on the internet. No point getting hostile or snide about it ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's amazing to me that they somehow managed to dramatically increase the player base and profits during a lockdown pandemic, then decided "well let's not do that"

Considering they already had to re implement it in nations that closed down again? They should have realized how to correct the issue right no later than that. Instead they uh. Formed a committee to study the issue and figure out the solution?

The rollback was initially slated for just the US and New Zealand, but when NZ went back under lockdown, they reinstated the increased PokeStop radius. Whether it was because of the outcry or their realization that the pandemic is still pretty bad here in the US or that it was starting to affect their cash flow (or some combo of the three), they finally decided to do the same here as well. --- I often wonder if we are growing as a people... or in fact, regressing. ...
