Marking someone for moderation is a coward's game. Why bother? I'd rather someone tell me why I'm wrong than be told I'm wrong, then be told I'm wrong over and over and over. For instance, if I'm going to eat at a place I don't know, I'd rather read about the restaurant than read about people's opinions.
Now, what a coward would also do in a restaurant is putting in my food order without first reading the comments and being warned for moderation or being read and deleted. I agree that it seems a bit unfair to start with a person who is not even there to defend himself. On the other hand, the internet is a wonderful thing. It's also very anonymous. Anonymity isn't the only difference between reading comments and watching the debate. Commenting on a forum is very different from actually visiting a restaurant. For one thing, most of us don't eat out in person very often, and we don't know the waitstaff very well. ... Copied to Clipboard!
