I worked with a cook once who was always stoned out of his mind, he was a nice guy though and everyone liked working with him. We had a meeting one morning and he didnt want to go to it cause he was closing up the kitchen the night before, but the owner told him flatly that if he didnt show up he would be fired.

So he doesnt show up and gets fired. Cut to three weeks later they sat on their hands and didnt hire a replacement and another cook quit on the spot. So they text the first dude and tell him he can have his job back if he can work that night, and so he just came back and worked there again.

Shit was hilarious.
