S3:E7 - Unification III

So...wow... I did not like this episode. Where to start. Vulcan isn't Vulcan anymore :(. I never got to see the Vulcans and Romulans achieve unification. They jumped straight to the end results with DIS. Now I know that the Romulans are no longer an adversary to the Federation in the future. They also aren't happy on Vulcan? I don't know, they only alluded to troubles with Romulans but that Vulcan who said that stuff seemed racist.

Burnhams mother is back.... so anti-climatic. I don't even know why shes on Vulcan, being apart of some secret Romulan sect. This episode made no sense to me.

The "trial" did not interest me, just the hints at what life is now like for Romulans and Vulcans, which wasn't much.

Tilly somehow jumped from ensign to acting Commander lmao.

With the Romulan Star Empire gone... I wonder if any of the ole baddies are still around being bad... besides the Orions

Also why would the Romulans like and want to stay with the Federation, while the Vulcans are selfish and voted to leave? God fucking damn it DIS.

With the Burns origins I thought it would be cool if it originated in the Gamma Quadrant... but I don't want to see what DIS would do to the Dominion.

I haven't seen Discovery but I've heard it's very serialized? I feel like I wouldn't like that for Star Trek. I'm on season six of TNG, watching for the first time.

Yes it's serialized and like with most TV nowadays it only 13 episodes a season.

S3:E8 - The Sanctuary

This episode was a lot better than last episode. There was space fights, I got to see this bad Orion leader Aunt finally. She's pretty stereotypical like most evil trek villians. Book played a central role, but everybody got to do something. Even the helms lady got to play a key role.

At least now they're finally getting closer to the Burns origins. If they squander this oppurtunity to bring back a real federation villian from the past. I'll be so disappointed.

I like where the season goes with her. She's not like on Khan's or Dukat's level of course, but I ultimately found her to be a decent villain.

S3:E9 - Terra Firma Part 1

They teased me with da Gamma Quadrant... but not even a slight mention of the Dominion.

So I guess the writers really wanted to re-visit the Mirror Universe. So they had to come up with a way to do it without Time Travel. So they beamed down onto an ice planet with that CSI detective.

Things are starting to heat up with the Emerald Chain and instead of dealing with that, they gotta fix Georgiou.

Not much was revealed about the Burn other than a Kelpian distress signal being sent a few years beforehand. Hopefully more is revealed next episode.

S3:E10 - Terra Firma Part 2

Good-bye Georgiou. That ending was a really nice callback to the City on the Edge of Forever. This was a creative way to deal with the temporal cold war treaty, while also allowing her to go back in time to the mirror universe.

It was fine a mirror universe episode arc. Even if it did get in the way of discovering the cause of the Burn.

Seems like Terrans aren't so bad afterall. ;)

S3:E11 - Su'Kal

Well.... if that's the cause of the Burn... that is anti-climatic.

Other than that. It was a decent episode. I'm still a little confused as to why Tilly is still an ensign and yet is left in charge. Rank clearly don't matter on DIS.

Oh and it's cool that Discovery has a cloaking device. It's about damn time Starfleet started using them.

Yeah.... I'm still going to keep watching season 3 (I am exhausted tonight, so no episode) but unless something happens that's jaw dropping at the conclusion, this season won't be as good as season two.

I finished season three.... I don't even... the writing is bad. Tilly was made acting Captain only to hand control over to Burnham and delegate all decisions to Burnham. The best fucking character on the show.... is gone? Now Burnham is captain. So that she can be even more the cause and solution of all of Discoverys problems.

I'm still fucking disappointed in the cause of the Burn. I truly believe I could have come up with a better idea than a child crying....

How did DIS manage to start hitting the right note in season 2 only to fall over with season 3? At least season two had a memorable battle scene in the finale and a few great episodes.

Wow.... I wonder what season 4 is going to be about? Probably something to do with Bajorans brutally occupying the Cardassians because a Ferengi sold them on the idea and now Burnham has somehow made things worse.

Burnham being made captain was such a "we all knew this was gonna happen eventually" moment, like I'm kind of amazed it took 3 seasons

But a child crying is what brings down the Federation. Come on now. This is bullshit.

Saru totally should have been the main character. Does anyone even like Burnham?
