The heat in texas keeps bringing waterbugs into my bathroom and I'm tired of catching them and releasing them. I heard peppermint oil is a good repellant has anyone had any success with it? I prefer not to kill if I don't have too.

Never tried it, but when waterbugs are in a tank in a room with a heater and you're in a warm sweater and you think, "Hey, they're all right." But one day it turns out that a waterbug has found you and it's crawling all over you and you can't move and it's a monster of a waterbug and it's bigger than a human and it's eating your skin, and if you can't move, you're doomed and you can't breathe and you just want to die.

But on the day I saw that I was basically in the waaterbugs' world, I decided to be as polite and helpful as possible. I figured there were probably only two things I could do to save myself. I could either go back in the room with the heater and die, or I could play along and pretend I was helpless and waterbugs like that. The second option was definitely better, so I did it.

I didn't want to be the second kind of human.

You're supposed to kill them, they're bugs.

Idk if it deter them but it will kill them.

I have made a spray of dawn, pepperment oil, tea tree oil and water, and it kills most bugs on contact.

I hate that waterbugs is used as a term for different insects. I think of boatmen when people say waterbugs and I'm like how are boatmen invading your bathroom

Considering that my bathroom is in the middle of the upstairs with no windows or access of any kind I can only assume the pipes or ventilation.

I'm gonna have to tell my roach story when I get off of work then.

Story time

One thing first, my grandmother on my dads side was a very loving woman. She would tell em this story of a roach friend she had. This little bugger would show up to her and she would give it food, she tell it to not make babies and everything will be fine. So the roach would grab the food then leave. One day she was opening up a drawer that it would go into and she found a little roach family tucked into a corner, she was mad the roach was reproducing even though she told it not too and killed them all lol but this little thing shows that even little bugs can create a bond with a human and rely on them.

Now for my story. So one day I took my xbox to a friends house and stayed over. His house was infested with roaches and they hijacked my xbox. So I ended up bringing some roaches to my house. Well one day this golden roach was scurrying around and I pretended to step on it and it scurried away but i was jsut scaring it. Well I think it lessened I was jsut playing and one day while I was eating it jump on my fork with food on it and when I looked to go put it in my it saw it and freaked out. So it kind of got me back for scaring it. Well the roaches just stayed in my room and in my xbox and computer. They didn't invade the rest of the house or crawled all over my room and walls. Kind of kept to themselves and roachy pop out and we hang out as it watched me play games on my computer or whatever. So we kind of bonded.

Well we needed up having to move as my parents divorced and sold the house and I took my computer and xbox to my uncle's house we they infested his house and my uncle wanted me to kill them. So I went to my room and I was crying because I didn't want to kill my friend roachy. Well as I was sitting there crying roachy came up to the end table and looked over at me as I was crying I believe it knew I was sad and crying. Just didn't know I was crying cause I had to kill it. I grabbed this tissue container that holds the boxes, it was metal. I went to smash the roach but stopped right before and lifted it to hoping I scares roachy off. Roachy didn't move and stayed put. Then I worked up the courage and smashed roachy. I screwed up and only smashed the back half as it was now freaking out in pain and running in circles. So I then smashed it like 5 times. Made me sad to think this roach had empathy and the ability to make a bond while also trusting me. I betrayed that trust and killed my friend even though I had too.

Ever since then i feel sad about killing bugs. Even though I know i ahve to sometimes i feel if i only took roachy outside, instead of killing it they still be alive doing whatever a roach does. But I have a hard time killing bugs now cause I know they are living creatures with emotions and able to create bonds with humans. They aren't just bugs to me anymore. I understand where everyone is coming from though but my sense of guilt is overwhelming and I rather not feel that way if I don't have to.

Had the pleasure of seeing this guy at an Airbnb in Arizona a few months ago.

Just what you want to see when turning on the lights in the bathroom.

Smashed the living hell out of him
