I don't like kids, except my nieces and nephews.
I get really irritated by baby wails.
This world has enough people.
Its kind of weird to think that people want kids.
The better question might be - why do you want this? Nothing sounds enjoyable about it. SAHM are out here depressed as shit, dads are working late to not come home.
Why does anyone want a kid? Its such a foreign concept to me.

World is fucked right now. COVID. Shit wages for pretty much any job. Everything's expensive as fuck. World is basically burning down around us.

I used to want kids but I honestly don't really know anymore.

I feel like you need a good reason to want kids more than you need a good reason to not want kids. And the reasons often given are equally dumb, some people really just want to make a mini them for selfish reasons but will deny it.

I have a laundry list of reasons. Big one is alcoholism runs in the family. My brother has a kid and aint a alcoholic. His wife only once in awhile drinks. So the cycle ends with me hopefully. I feel id be a poor father due to my drinking. If not for that I feel id be a great father.

Conservatives are forcing people to bear children for the wrong reasons.

All reasons for not bringing more life into the world are valid. If someone has doubts about wanting a new human to exist, they shouldn't be pressured to create any.

Many are valid reasons.

And the actual Reddit thread is less pessimistic than the topic makes it out to be, with the reasons blaming society and the state of the world being lower on the vote end.

At any rate, the whole excuse to not have kids because of the shitty state of the world is a horrible argument. Most of us have parents or grandparents that were conceived during WW2 or the Cold War where things looked much, much, bleaker for mankind.

If you are so concerned about people not having kids, nothing is stopping you from having a bunch of your own, especially if you are male.

There's plenty of valid reasons, but, as per usual, a lot of the most vocal people seem to just be in denial. But yeah it is possible that the future will be shit and bleak. But nobody having kids would guarantee that would be the case lol. Society kinda needs young people to function. That doesn't mean everyone should have kids obviously. People should do what they want. There isn't much that upsets me more than a kid having a miserable upbringing.

Well see I only have to deal with my niece in short stints.

I don't hate kids as much as its I usually hate other people's kids. If I had a kid id love them. But the plus would be i could discipline them if they where doing the bratty shit others peoples kids do that makes me not like some of them.
