Very upsetting because it was their fault plain and simple. Sometimes it doesn't matter how much you repeat something, people still are lazy to do it.

I know people who have gotten COVID twice and still won't get vaccinated. "It'll make me sick!" You've been sick, twice, because you refuse to do it.
It's extremely aggravating! I got slightly sick the day after I got my shot, but I just popped a few extra strength tylenols and carried on. Don't get me wrong, I know it affects everyone differently, but I'd rather be able to control when I might feel sick (and for the most part, being sick after a shot is much better than being sick because of covid).

Now, as for my brother-in-law and my sister, each one has dumb reasons for not getting the vaccine at this point. My brother-in-law didn't get it because his conspiracist mother told him it causes infertility, which is something my sister and him worry about constantly (but there would be no data that could prove that within this timeframe, and as I said, she's not exactly right in the head). He finally started warming up to the idea of taking it, but obviously he waited way too long.

My sister needed surgery a while back, so I gave the benefit of the doubt that was why she withheld from getting it for so long. At this point, though, it's a combination of her being scared to do anything in public and being lazy. She said she's going to get the shot as early as she can now, which is good, but come on man, you don't have to wait until you test positive for covid to decide to get the vaccine finally.

My brother-in-law literally just started a new job this week, so that's just so irresponsible on his part. Imagine starting a job and having to tell your employer right after that you have to take a few weeks off because you got covid. It's August, 2021, and I can tell you the vaccine is there, ready to be taken.

My sister might die, but let's tell a video game message board how it's her fault. I feel badly for her, tbh

Venting because your sibling was being irresponsible and putting their life at risk is not mutually exclusive from caring about them.

That's about all I'll say to you if you're just going to come into the thread to start an argument. Unlike the rest of CE, I'm not going to let my topic become pages of derailment because a troll needs to fulfill their daily quota.

It's honestly infuriating. My brother and his fiancee not only refused to get the vaccine, they were 100% exposed and decided not to get tested unless they had symptoms. Despite some of the family members that tested positive also not having any symptoms. Meanwhile they're going all around town, she's going to the grocery store and cleaning houses, he's going to work and to the bar to play poker.

I was just being snarky. I apologize
It's alright. I just see too many topics become excuses to insult and derail the original message, so I just didn't want it to happen here.

Unfortunately, on my brother-in-law's side, he's probably the best of them when it comes to caring about others. This was a major misplay on his part, but he's considerate enough to stay at home, and let his employer know despite showing no symptoms currently. The rest of his family will probably just go about their lives as normal despite having it. His dad even had cancer in the past, so I worry for his health. His mother is the type to be proud of not wearing a mask because I guess it shows she's enlightened and that she fought the system.

I believed the hype and got moderna vaccine but I still use cloth masks and they are convenient but probably dont protect enough. Sorry to hear about your family getting sick.
