Which is it?

I was always taught to drive with 1 foot while driving Automatics because using one for gas and the other for brake was dangerous. I never questioned it or asked why after that. Its just what I was taught. Somehow a conversation brought this up and some people drive with both feet for Automatic vehicles? That is so weird to me. How common is this?

EDIT: God damnit, please dont be a smart ass and talk about how you use your feet to steer. Im obviously talking about using the peddles. I know how CE is

I changed my topic title from 1 or 2 feet to 1 or both feet to avoid this exact answer and you still do it lmao.

Until fairly recently if you pressed both the gas and breaks you could damage the car but apparently based on googling now the standard behavior is that the engine cuts out if you accidentally (or intentionally) try to do that.
