I still see the word "male" being used all the time. Yet in the past few years, certain...things have changed and somehow it's wrong to use this very simple neutral word "female" now?

Also most people use the word "female" simply because

  1. It's more grammatically correct. You don't say a woman co-worker. Or a woman gender. Because woman is a noun. NOT an adjective.
  2. A woman does not encompass all of this gender, since it is restricted in age to those older and above. How about referring to teenage girls, tweens, young adults? Are we supposed to say "women and girls" instead or what?
  3. Why the hypocrisy. Somehow it's still completely OK to use the word 'male' but apparently using the word 'female' is gonna get you stoned by the triggered feminists in an instant

Dude, people on reddit get so mad if you say female.

Usually I see them say female is an adjective and thus shouldn't be used as a noun, and that it can refer to any creature so it's dehumanizing. I find the outrage to be bunk.

How quaint.

Nobody is taking issue with using it as an adjective, and the people who refer to women as females are usually (always?) stinky incels or nazis

Using female as a noun is usually considered weird since incels tend to refer to men or boys as those words instead of male.

Nah people do not say male the same way some men say female. Women don't say "I met this male at the club" cause it's fucking weird and dehumanizing

Did someone make fun of you for sounding like an incel or something? Thats the only time I ever see someone criticized for calling women females.

No but I recall seeing a topic here some time back basically telling people not to use the word "females"

I've never heard anyone say "I met this female at the club" either.
Normally when they say "female" as a noun, it's always in plural. "Females". Because that's the best way to be referring to the whole gender regardless of age.

It's mostly when you use it in weird situations. Like when you're talking about a social situation but sound like a scientist analyzing an alien species.

female can refer to women or transwomen. that's why the word has become outdated.

if you are talking about women who were AFAB, then just use the new term uterus haver.

I usually notice the word "Female" being used by people with a more "urban" vernacular.

Growing up, i lost count of how many times ive heard "Check out those fine females" and the like.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

People on here acting like there's a bunch of sweating neck beards breathing and saying and raspy voices "we need to acquire some females".

But this is mostly something you hear amongst your guy friends in actuality.

The word itself didn't become taboo. But it's weird to use it in non-scientific context and incels regularly use it to complain about something girls do

I know my grammar aint perfect but for me is using it where it sounds right. Sometimes saying women sounds weird in particular sentences so I say female. Sometimes female sounds weird to me so i say women.

Like women video game characters vs female video game characters. Female sounds better to me.

That woman at the bar vs that female at the bar. Woman sounds better to me
