Mask mandates and compliance rates don't seem to have much correlation with the timing and scale of outbreaks. I'm not saying they can't work on an individual level, if you have a proper N95 mask, wear it correctly, and keep it on at all times. But that's different from whether it's effective to have a mandate that some people follow an some don't, some people wear medical masks and some wear cloth masks, some wear them right and some stick their noses out, some keep them on and some are taking them off to talk or when people aren't paying attention, and so on. Statistically on a broad population scale, they don't seem to be doing much.

But also it seems hard to justify mandating masks for everyone for the sake of protecting those who have chosen to forego the much more effective preventive measure of vaccination. And it undermines the case for getting a vaccine in the first place.

A) So that's your interpretation- I'm asking for a source that statistically shows that masks are not statistically effective at slowing spread in schools (the original law he passed)

B) Your second paragraph is making a lot of broad assumptions as well. First why is it hard to justify that? People who don't get the vaccine for whatever reason can still be expected to wear masks to protect others. To drive a car you only have to have insurance that pays for others, getting insurance to cover costs for your own car is completely optional. Second what proof is there that relaxing mask mandates will increase a person's chance or desire to get the vaccine? Is there a provaccine anti mask subgroup that is significant?

I used to be a shitty person in my 20s, most of it do to personal hate and depression after watching all my friends leave me. Since then I've been a really good person, and have been sober for almost 8 months now, the last terrible thing in my life is done with. I'm very proud of how good of a person I am, you're not going to take that away from me.
