If it was a healthy tooth that you broke, it would most likely be very painful. I just had a very similar tooth pulled last week, if it's broken open that badly, it's probably going to come out in pieces. Don't put off going to the dentist, now that it's broken it can get infected easily, and that is not an enjoyable experience. --- "I'm the straightest guy on this board. I immediately went to the dentist and scheduled to have them pulled ASAP. Probably like three or four week between the infection and getting them out. The actual surgery took about 15 minutes on gas - two easy pulls, one in the gum straight up, and one impacted completely sideways. I was fortunate and had a pretty easy recovery. I will say though that the pain from the infection was definitely worse than the recovery pain the first time the numbness/pain medication wore off.
