If you have to make a list, aren't they unnecessarily complicated?

Lastname.first 3 letters of first name@whatever.

Or something similar. That way it shouldn't need anyone asking what they are.

we do first initial last name dot school abbv.

problem is when that naming scheme already exists for the student. then we go first 2 letters.

but then AFTER that it gets REAL dumb. its like first two first, middle maybe, last name. and dont get me started if they have a hyphenated last name!

and its not even my fault. the enrollment/data team creates the emails.

yeah. like i know why people do it. either cultural or they want to be inclusive of both families. me and my wife toyed around with combining our last names, but ultimately, we, nor our children, would be able to fit their names into any form and its just a hassle.
