They checked my veins and i had to watch a video. Now i am waiting to do a health questionnaire. After donating today i think i am getting $100-$150 for the first donation. I am in the highest weight bracket so i get the most money.

Money aside, i feel happy because this stuff helps a lot of people, the money is nice, but i am also glad i am helping people.

Since when do they pay you by weight? Every time I went it was a flat rate for everyone, the only thing your weight affected was how much plasma you'd donate.

Also, that place must not use the same sized needles that the places I've donated at do.

2 times a week, when I first donated I could do it 3 times a week. I don't know what changed though since then.

IV needles allow for movement and bending your arm a bit, that needle does not. I seen someone bend his arm and the needle went thru his arm due to how thick the needle is.

Ya the IV needle is plastic with a razor blade tip. These are just long metal needles, def do not bend your arm.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. You donate more plasma but you're still getting paid the same amount

It is by weight indeed, does not encourage being fat because you also have to pass the heart rate and blood pressure tests every time you donate. So you have to be in moderate health.

I will take a picture of the sign before i leave. I mean it makes sense, the bigger you are the more plasma you have.

It's probably just unique to that plasma donation center only. The one I go to doesn't operate that way.

Ugh these guys are a little slow man, they kept reusing the same tape and it lost its stickyness as a result the needle came loose and it hurt...everything was going smoothly til then. I made $110 today.

I did it for a few months in a row, made me feel awful. I saw the people there who always did it, they looked like zombies. Poor people, I felt horrible for them. It's nice if you like doing it but that is not why everyone is there, they're there cause they need money and selling your body is a way to do it

You probably didn't follow the guidelines they give you. Never had an issue when I donated, always made sure to eat something right after and drink plenty of fluids

I actually went to a blood donation center last year. There is a difference between plasma donation centers and blood donation centers. The plasma places actually pay you, the blood donations don'tt, regardless of which one you choose you are helping people.

Unless the plasma is going for research then it's not helping anyone. There is some plasma donation companies that don't use it for research.

I am donating my plasma and the company that profits off of it is giving me a gift for donating. Whether people do it for the gift is another discussion but this money is not taxable income.

I am glad you are getting such a kick out of my good deed. The plasma they collected today is worth much more than what they gave me. $100 is not a lot of money guy, especially with biden giving money away every month right now.

Glad they are a good company. From my understanding you have to go to your zip code districts plasma branch regardless which is basically the closest one to you.

For anyone wondering about this and is considering doing it, i recommend it. It does not hurt, the staff is very kind, you get compensated pretty well for your time, and you are helping your community. The needle is smaller than an IV needle but bigger than a regular syringe needle, it feels like a pinch. I will be doing this twice a week every week from now on. Lord knows i need as much cash as i can get right now.
