In both the novel and the movie, it's explained to the audience that a velociraptor's attack pattern consists of one raptor acting as a distraction while two more raptors attack from either side of the prey.

Since the movie only has two raptors on the screen at any given time, they conveniently have the third raptor locked up and unable to partake in the attack on Muldoon. My question is, why did they need to specify two raptors in the first place? Why not just say that one raptor distracts you and another attacks in ambush. "That's when the attack comes -- not from the front but from the raptor you didn't even know was there."

It's pointless hyping up something we never get to see. Four sequels in and we've yet to see one raptor attack from the left while another attacks from the right.

they detailed the optimal hunting pattern and then they gimped them because they'd murder the cast without the gimp.

I also have to comment on the parasaurolophus cameo toward the beginning. We them on the banks beside the brachiosaurs toward the beginning, but they never get a closeup and they never appear again.
