Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale
Playstation Vita (PSP as well really) Playstation Move Playstation Classic There's no reason these things should be as bad as they were. That's not even mentioning the things that were still done pretty poorly but succeeded anyway. PS3's online features compared to the 360 for example. I'm not criticizing the act of copying things. It's pretty inevitable but damn if you're going to do it at least do it right. How long have they wanted to have a multiplayer hit of their own? 20 years and counting and still nothing that has lasted? They're a successful company for sure but it's actually amazing how bad they are at copying other companies successes. It's the part of Playstation that still has that Sony DNA because their other divisions do it even worse. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

The biggest problem with entering the handheld market is that Nintendo owns the entire thing. They really should've just eaten any losses from piracy and made the Vita as accessible and convenient as possible. Fucking 120 dollar memory cards fuck lol
It was a slick piece of hardware though, i enjoyed it --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I wouldn't really call their portables bad. They might have had a few less than optimal choices, but I think the majority of their inability to claim the handheld market share is simply that Nintendo was such a dominating force in the area. Had there been more competition beforehand, they might have had a better chance at it.

Fucking 120 dollar memory cards fuck lol Sure it always was gonna be tough but treating handhelds like the B-tier device you only bother with if you're away from the actual Playstation was never gonna work. There's gotta be more than just spin-offs and some niche first party games. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

The PSP did fine really but they could have learned the right lessons from it for the Vita. But they didn't learn a single thing. Their big studios still didn't want to touch it. They still never attempted to actually launch a major franchise on the thing. So it died quick and hard. It no longer had the multimedia or hacking advantages that the PSP had and Western third parties had lost interest in portables hard.
They didn't even try to keep Monster Hunter on the thing which basically gave Nintendo Japan on a silver platter. So overall I'm not even sure if they knew what worked with the PSP at all. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's still wild to me that they haven't managed to have a solid FPS franchise of their own. Killzone felt like it had potential at times. I forgot Resistance even existed until I googled "first party Sony FPS games" lol

I don't think they're "bad copies" since on a technical level they're just flat out better than their counterparts. It's not a matter of being a bad copy for the vita and move. It's not a matter of being a bad copy for the vita and move. It's just bad support. That's what makes them being bad at copying so frustrating. Better tech isn't enough. It never has been enough. PSP did overall get by with better tech but the momentum was completely lost for a reason. They just didn't have anything that kept people loyal to their portable lineup. When people think of iconic Playstation studios and games none of them are on PSP or Vita. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!

Don't forget Sony State of Play Oh yeah totally. Finishing on a high note and not making most of the show games that have already been shown seem like obvious lessons to learn from Nintendo Direct's but yet they don't seem to know. TwoDoorPC posted... psnow is also crap compared to gamepass Yeah the streaming part was first but I think the subscription part was after Game Pass? Again not really noticing what works about Game Pass. Putting in an old first party games for three months is just weird. Also even though it's not only a streaming service it's still not available in a lot of countries. --- Kind Regards, Darmik ... Copied to Clipboard!
