This is pretty much everyone.

Everyones favorite set of top 40 music tends to be during the era where they were living their best life. Mostly because when they hear it 10-15 years later it brings them back to those great moments and memories.

Well lucky for you the radio is a dated medium and for the price of a spotify subscription you can have access to more new music the you could possibly ever listen to. If you can't find something you like, sounds like you're the problem

No, but most workplaces have music on.
I regurally take over the radio, once I get a chance.
...But when they have it on w/e modern music is going on...it tends to suck.

...I'm very well-rounded in terms of music.

2010s was an amazing decade

All these genres were created or either had a peak in development:
Future bass, edm trap, kawaii bass, future funk, vaporwave, hyperpop, neoperreo, moombahton, jungle terror, brostep, deconstructed club, hard drum, riddim, halftime, emo rap, trap metal, mallsoft, utopian virtual, digital fusion, colour bass, alt-pop, bedroom pop, phonk, tread, and freeform bass. I didn't even state half.

Older genres had amazing releases by artists like trash metal (Vektor), rock n roll (JD McPherson), soul (Mayer Haethorne), dirty south/hip-hop (Big Boi), and I could just go on and on

Video game soundtracks arguably reached an on going peak. Nintendo put all efforts into music like Super Mario Galaxy 2, 3D World, Mario Odyssey, Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, DK Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Kirby's Epic Yarn, etc.. You can love Sega or not, but they always make top notch soundtracks. Rockstar's Red Dead games had top notch neo-spaghetti western soundtracks and finally did full composed soundtrack for GTAV outside of licensed music. Indie games were the shining light. Undertale and Shovel Knight are prime examples of using classic video game music styles of the 90s and masterfully bringing them to modern times.

It does if all you listen to is what's playing the radio. There's been dog shit mainstream music on the radio during every decade.

And back 30 years ago it actually took some effort and a decent amount of money to explore music that wasn't widely available through the radio. Niche music is more accessible now then it's ever been. So once again, if you're having trouble finding modern music you don't like it's a you problem.

Exactly! If you compare the Top 30 Billboard USA tracks with acclaimedmusic's and RYM's top songs of 1991 you'll see a huge gulf between what mainstream radio played and what is critically acclaimed years later. I listen to that music more than anything, so kinda a blunder on my part to write off the 2010's like that.
