this is one of those games i spent hours playing as a kid doing absolutely nothing. i didn't even get to the first boss, i think i got to that forest and never got past it.

i kept running in circles after every battle because apparently after you win a fight your character faces the opposite direction?

edit: if you hold left or right on the joystick and unplug your controller, Brian runs in a circle forever. Leave it on overnight and you'll have 255 agility in the morning. Nothing in the entire game can ever hit you (maybe it's a 1/256 chance they can but it doesn't matter) and you can easily flee from 100% of random encounters.

No, Brian jumps back to the way you were facing after winning a battle.

The problem is dungeons have no distinguishing features, so it you run from anything it's super easy to accidentally go the wrong way.
