No, Musk sucks.

Look at a RAV 4 or a Leaf.

Or wait for the electric F-150 (or even the Rivian RT1).

I do not think they are worth it. I told you in your thread what i think you should do. If i were you i would sell my old car and go to a used car dealership and purchase a 05-15 model car that gets you from point a to point b. No point in getting a tesla when the autopilot will not be perfected til at least 2025. Save your money and invest in crypto.

I have a Tesla Model S and it's the most amazing piece of technology I've had the pleasure of personally using.

If you can afford the car payment comfortably, I'd say go for it.

Damn, the Model S is expensive. I can't afford that along with my condo payment. The entry level Model 3 is at the top of what I'm willing to spend rn

Yeah, I figured the Model 3 is what you're going for. What I would recommend is doing multiple test drives to make sure you're comfortable with everything about the car before you buy it. Driving a Tesla is a bit different than driving an ICE car.

Things to check out:
  • The regenerative braking is pretty strong, so you'll want to make sure you're OK with it. Some people don't like it. It can be adjusted down somewhat, but that reduces your range a tiny bit.
  • The door handles on the 3 and Y work differently. Make sure you either love, like, or can tolerate it enough to justify the purchase.
  • The model 3 and Y have all of the info about speed, GPS, etc. on the center display and there is no display behind the wheel. Again, make sure you either love, like, or can tolerate it enough.
  • Make sure you have an adequate charging solution. You'll want to make sure you have a 120V outlet that you can use where you park the car to charge it. The free supercharging perk isn't being offered any more. If you have the appropriate option in your condo, you can pay to have a faster charger, either 20A 240V or 50A 240V for faster charging. This is costly, though, and I opted not to do it.
  • Also, if you're going to use a regular 120V outlet, be aware of how much you drive per day to make sure that will be sufficient to keep your car charged consistently for normal driving. You get about 4 miles per hour of range when using a 120V outlet, which is plenty for me. Even if I were to drive to the office every day from my new house, I'm looking at about a 45 mile daily commute to get to work and to get home. I just leave my car plugged in when I'm at home and it's charged back up to my set limit by morning at the latest.

Oh perfect, thanks! Yeah I'm only about 10 miles from my office and will max have to go 3x a week

I probably did about 20 test drives from my 1st test drive all the way up to accepting delivery. I knew almost everything about the car when I got it. At one point, I was helping a Tesla employee in the showroom answer customer questions because I happened to know some answers off the top of my head that he didn't.

Hes on team Bezos. Bezos owns a hefty chunk of Rivian and is who the company answers to. Bezos sucks.

He also busted unions and stole tax credits on the promise he would hire local workers. They hired out of town workers.

Yeah, that's the main problem of my boss. Check first, so that you don't have to drive far and possibly wait in line for a charge.
