Tyson under D'Amato/Rooney would beat just about everyone.

The scary thing about Tyson is the what if factor. Boxers tend to hit their prime between like 27 and 32. Tyson peaked at 21-23. Physically we might have seen what he had, but technique wise he could have grown so much more.

Holyfield probably peaked around 29 in 1992. At this point he had seen Tyson defeated.

So that prime holyfield I think still takes prime tyson. he's such a bad match for tyson, someone with more heart than him that won't get scared.

Holyfield is a fucking warrior.

a prime tyson lost to tokyo buster. tyson was never unbeatable, he was just at one point unbeaten.

That wasnt prime Tyson, though. He was with a new trainer and not running/training. Under previous trainers he was pretty unbeatable. The top boxers of the time were all KOed by him easily when he was with Kevin Rooney and Cus DAmato.

I feel like Tyson at his Prime would have defeated Holyfield. I kinda feel like Holyfield didn't have a lot of excellent boxers to really test himself against (for the most part).

Prime Tyson was just so different that I really think he could have beaten anyone. It'd be very hard to train for him by seeking sparring partners to replicate his talents.

He only fought cans when Cus was alive.

Wasn't much better under Rooney. A 40 year old Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks are probably his 2 highest quality wins.

Holyfield's record just has more quality wins against bigger names. By the time of Holyfield's prime, the Tyson problem had been solved, just needed balls of steel to stand in there which Holyfield had and proved it twice.

As a cruiserweight Qawi was a tough match up.
As a heavyweight, Ruiz, Lennox Lewis, Riddick Bowe, over the hill Holmes and Foreman, Ray Mercer, Tyson, maybe missing a couple of other good names.

Tyson had much softer competition than Holyfield.

Those two wins are pretty significant though, and though Larry was old he went on to have some really good performances after that fight. I don't really disagree too much overall though.
