Yes, because she was a terrible worker who barely knew anything about computers (she was on our IT call center), and people complained about having to talk to her when calling for support all the time. However, what sunk her was that she was taking long lunches, despite being warned multiple times by our Deputy CIO at the time.

Recently, we had another incompetent worker on the call center who also got complaints from the users, but he resigned for another job before the axe could fall on him.

If you guys keep hiring incompetent workers then the people you guys need to talk to is the hiring manager and HR.

Yep. If it was just me who caught him sleeping I might not have reported it. But since he'd been caught before and the time I caught him I was with the officer who relieved him, well. I had to file the issue.

Our call center, and in fact, just about our entire IT department including myself, are all contractors who are technically not employees of the organization we're working for. So it's moreso on who these contracting houses keep bringing in, though I suppose the onus is still on my manager and his superiors who do the interviewing.

Luckily, those were the only two bad ones I know of in the past few years, and usually, everyone else did well enough.

No, not fair at all. It was our gm. She was the best boss I've ever had, she did everything she could to keep this place from going under during Covid, outside of sacrificing the staff anyway.

A few months ago the corporate representative showed up, told her to get out and that she was no longer welcome on the property. The business owner's(privately owned yet part of a chain) had forced them to fire her because they didn't like the numbers they saw over the last year(during the lockdown and it's a hotel).

They replaced her with the previous gm who had gotten fired before for fudging the numbers. So, of course as soon as she's gone it becomes summer and we get slammed every weekend, so it looks like replacing her was a good idea, and he's fudging the numbers again to look even better while the situation behind the scenes is rapidly declining. He's crashing this place into the ground, but they can't see past the big numbers to realize it.

Yes, she had some very public meltdowns and the last straw was when she made a customer wait while she screwed up printing something for 5-10 minutes and then took it out on him.

The last person I'm aware of that got fired was pissed off he had to work an extra hour. Picked up a metal beam and threw it hitting someone in the back with it.

I walked him out myself.

Most get fired or quit at my job over attendance or availability.

Some are like 15 min late... like every single day.

They're also the first to leave for breaks and lunch and are the last to come back from breaks and lunch.

Some are out at least one day a week.

Get on their case about it then they'll get mad and quit or keep it up until they're told not to come back.
