My plasma center is offering around $1,100 for 8 donations. That is $1,100 roughly for 10 hours worth of time.

I need to seriously man up and go.

why, does it hurt?

Those are most likely for new donors too. If you donate regularly afterwards you won't be making as much from it

You might as well do it provided you're ok with occasional discomfort

Not really, the first time is a little uncomfortable but it's not that big of a deal. The needle is bigger than the ones used for donating blood, at least they were when I was still donating plasma.

I would love to do it again because even after the bonus, its still good extra cash for about 45 minutes of your time. I can't do it because my pulse rate won't stay under 100 for some reason now. I think it's when then prick your finger to test your protein and what not that drives it up.

Yeah they are, its ridiculous how big they are LOL. I saw one guy bend his arm with the needle still in ther and well I'm sure you can imagine what happened next

Probably one of the worst things that could happen is that you get stuck incorrectly (by a less experienced tech) and which results in infiltration and a hematoma on your arm. It's not as bad as it sounds, it's just a nagging thing that goes on for a couple of weeks and you have to make sure not to put too much pressure on that arm

I have two large crescent moon-shaped scars from the year I donated.

Had a panic attack when donating once and haven't been back. The panic attack wasn't a result of the procedure, just unchecked anxiety and very stressful times.

Now I fear going back because I associate donating with panic attacks.

My niece was telling me she donated and that the needle is as big as an IV needle, which i have had before and was not a problem so long as the person sticking you does not miss the vein. I am not worried about dudes missing the vein honestly, what worries me is the size of thedamn needle, the one i saw in videos looked way bigger than an IV needle to me because it was made out of metal instead of plastic like the IV one, this is just a huge thick metal sarynge needle and it kind of gives me the creeps.

I know it is just for first time donors but $1.1k is still a good amount of cash. Especially considering i have two different plasma centers within 3 miles from me lol so i can make $2k in 2 months for 20 hours of meh itsnot bad money imo especially since you do not have to do taxes on this income because the money given to you in exchange for your plasma is considered a gift for your donation. Then after first donation month bonus i will make around $500 which is still really good.

You cannot go to multiple plasma donation centers. You will immediately be deferred from one of them if you do that

Gotcha, not a problem.

You gotta keep your protein and sugar at a certain level to donate.

Drink a lot of water the day before and the day of, it will make the donation process go quicker. Back when I did it, some days I would get in and out in about 30 minutes which included them getting me ready to donate because I would drink a lot of water the day before and the day of.
