I was getting so fucking frustrated that I couldn't complete them. I put so much into the game. I absolutely loved every bit of it until that point, but now I was being barred from completing it because I wasn't good enough. I immediately felt betrayed by the game.

But I kept going because I thought I could push through it anyways, and as it turns out I couldn't. But then the help arrived and it still wasn't enough, but it kept coming until I could do it.

I wasn't let down, I wasn't alone, and together it was possible. It was definitely one of the most emotional game endings I've ever witnessed. I went from almost crying in anger, feeling hurt and betrayed, to crying from knowing there were others out there that experienced the same and were there to make sure I wasn't alone.

And then I got to send my own help? I had to do that. Give back what was given to me

Right? It's meta as hell.

You just watch the saddest shit, see these characters you spent tens of hours struggle through one of the most depressing stories in the medium, and you're thinking 'well, maybe the other ending...?' NOPE!

But the ending gives that spark of hope when the Pods begin. Then it's you against the world. And others show words of encouragement. Then it's not you anymore. No one wanted it to end like this. Everyone's fighting for just that small spark of hope. Then that final cutscene payoff.

"A future is not given to you. It is something you must take for yourself."

Chills, emotions, tears... :(

Definitely. I tried a few times to solo it just to see if it was possible. You get checkpoints up until the vocals start up in different languages. Then it becomes utter hell. After 40 minutes of trying I just assumed it was impossible.

It's not impossible but you have to be a bullet hell god.

The day the servers go down will be a dark day.

I just could not get into it

Everyone talks about how amazing it is and usually I love RPGs but I could not get immersed in the world or characters at all

And I played it around the time I first played Shemue, I 100%ed Shenmue 1 and 2 and thoroughly enjoyed them

Nier 2 was a boring chore to play. And I liked Nier 1.

I think Nier 2 seems to rely too much on "Let's just do random shit instead of pacing , that's how stories work right?" and it didnt Click for me and the combat doesn't carry it

It felt like The Fade section of Dragon Age Origins except it never ended
