I do not use my car that often and it costs $3 for a round trip with our townships rideshare service. Makes having a car completely pointless. The only thing that stinks is that it only runs from like 8am to 5pm. Either way, ended up selling my car and will be using this service to get around. I am saving so much $$$.

If I worked locally and lived in a safer city I'd be strongly considering buying a Ebike.

I am in illinois, chicago. The thing is that i am disabled so that is why i qualify for this. It is only for seniors and the disabled from what i understand. I figure i might as well take advantage of the perks while i rehabilitate. What stinks is that there are no chiropractors that take my insurance in my township so now that i ditched the car i cannot go to my chiropractic appointments. But that is ok bc i figured out how to treat my back pain using exercise.

Are those the bikes with an engine? I saw a guy on one of those wipe out and bust a hole the size of a golf ball in his knee. I rather walk. When i worked as a pt tech one of the most common reasons a person would end up in pt is because a car hit their bike. Walk + bus = safest option imo

They work the same as a normal bike, only being electric powered they assist in paddling so riding upwind or uphills becomes a breeze.

Not sure on the risk factor but there still preferable for distances to sort to justify a car, and to far for many to walk and within a reasonable time span.

Ya if you are mindful enough cycling is a really good way to get places that are not super far. If you are not fat as heck like me cycling 30 miles in one day is a good way to save money, get places and stay fit.
