The beasts in the first one was cool and the intro to the second was hyped reading the screenplay and watching it. Getting rid of Depp hurt (fuck you WB and Amber). Compared to Harry Potter, it's really not that great. I went with my sister and a friend, who are both pretty big HP fans, but felt like I had to keep glancing over at them like, "Is this canon? Has this ever been brought up in the lore before?"
