I initially purchased the game as something to fuck with between moments of frustration with Dark Souls 3.

I am a Gen X gamer and despise the handholding of modern games. Swore I'd never play anything other than FROM games.

But I bit.

They are doing things that are amazing, transformative and gamer friendly. If you are still mad at the launch, you must also still be mad at the loss of knowledge regarding Santa Claus and the Easter bunny. They paid restitution for those who applied and delivered handsomely for those who stayed with the product. One game has become 4-7 IMO.

Yeah, they are pushing the envelope on a lot.

Look, the casual, anime and handholding crowd won't get it. But if you want adventure limited only by your mind and your willingness to risk death, NMS is the shit.

you can play on VR either ps4/ps5.

i got to the center of the galaxy.
if manage to survive where they place you on the first planet you'll get through the rest of the game no problem.

1st planet i died. 2nd planet i managed to find a cave with plenty of survival elements and stocked up on em before i had to find the parts to my ship.

if they add any trophy's to the ps4/ps5 version i'll come back to it.

And, when I played at least, you could build portals that warps to another portal on another planet and go planet hopping.
Nothing stopping you having a base on a poison planet and a garden on a lush planet and a base under water on a water planet. So on and so on.

Damnit i wanna play it now.

Early grind isn't even that bad nowadays lul. You can get to later game stuff pretty early and don't even really have to do the main storyline, which is honestly more or less tutorial. The Anomaly basically made it so that you can get the later elements without having to go through the story, which skips like 90% of the doldrum

Basically usually if you were bothered by something earlier in the game, by this point, it's probably been fixed with some additional content.

Man, making an activated cadmium farm and using infinite money to buy out this insane looking mothership was one of the most satisfying thing ever. Had to traverse quite a few galaxies to reroll for the one I liked the best.

except for the part where it hasn't, it constantly adds more to the grind, more materials, more blueprints, more arbitrary repairs. These statements are always made from people that live exclusively in the end game where you are able to automate the mundane out of the game.

So you either play sandbox and go oh neat and quit after a few days because it's sandbox. Play normal and go, well this is horribly boring and quit after a few days. Or you convinced yourself it's a better game then it was and keep reusing your save to skip the worst part of a shallow game that things tedium is depth.

There's a reason why all these updates only bring people for a few days after the patch then the numbers return back down to the same core that keeps playing the game telling everyone no guys it's really good now, guys, come plz, guys plz, guys really plz trust me guys guys guys guys no rly this time!

Lol nice assumptions, but I first started to play the game like 6 months ago and really enjoyed the overall experience. I mean not a whole lot of end game stuff is locked behind anything. I dunno when you played the game, but sure before you get a spaceship, the range of stuff you can do is a bit limited, but that's just how video games work lol. After you get a spaceship, literally like what can't you actually do? You can activate nearly every quest as long as you know how to, and the Nexus makes it so you can automate for infinite money like pretty much within your first 3-4 hours of playing.

Just get your head out of the ass and accept that the current product is actually genuinely good. Is it for everybody? Probably not. But that statement for anything is pretty pointless and obvious, yet you don't seem to realize it. Maybe you just don't like this type of game in general
