Nah man 2 has pacing issues and is disjointed all over the place, where the first one is a smooth ride that doesn't stop.

At the top. Never saw anything like it before with unrelentless energy and masterfully done fight choreography. Nothing has surpassed it since.

Raid 2 is superb but that felt more like a Godfather crime story than a martial arts movie.

Both movies are my favorite martial arts movies, but I am not an expert in the field.

After several rewatches, I prefer The Raid 2 a little more than the original. I prefer the additional time spent developing the story and the characters/villains, it gives the fights a little more weight.
