I'm pretty sure I detected a Welsh accent on the female elf that takes your demon droppings for study, so you may be right with the accident being more regional affliction and not race. Merrill's clan was from Ferelden though, and they were Welsh out the ass.

While we're here, let's talk about romance. I'm not sure who I want to take yet. My previous playthroughs had me going after Sera and Cullen, because those two fit the Inky I was currently playing (female elf mage for Cullen and female human rogue for Sera). With a male elf inky this time, I think Josie might be better than Cass, though Dorian remains an option.

Cassandra is worth it though. Josie is also a wonderful romance from what I remember of it.

But then Dorian!

All are fantastic. Dorian does have the benefit of having a great romance with Bull as well (and the obvious aftermath depending on a certain choice)

And yeah, it would've been nice for more options on the VA, but having 2 options for the main character is already a lot given how much they speak so just got to accept it for what it is.

Mage fits Cassandra, since her first lover was a mage as well. The elf part might be problematic, though, especially if you want to play him as being devout to the elven pantheon. She straight up calls it nonsense to your face on at least one occasion that I can remember.

I was slightly amused and annoyed by some of her responses while trying to romance her.

I don't have any room to cast stones anyway, since my "canon" Inky is an elven mage who romanced Sera.

That's why I went with a human Inky to romance Sera. She hates all things Elven, so there wasn't much sense in romancing her as one. My first Elf Inky romanced Cullen, because after 7 years, surviving the circle in Ferelden falling, the Kirkwall uprising, and casting aside his Templar vows because he became disillusioned with the order, he needed something good in his life. She even helped him break free of his lyrium dependency.

Blackwall is a pretty interesting romance as well

i always have a hard time not romancing Sera tho. shes just too good.

It needed a bit of headcanoning, but I think I made it work reasonably well. Inky understands why Sera doesn't like elves, she's patient about it, and they're having some success working through it by the time of Trespasser and beyond.

The main conflict point is with the elven religion. I think it's probably true that someone who believes in and worships the elven pantheon is incompatible with Sera, but that particular Inky doesn't really have any actual religious beliefs. She thinks that "gods" could and probably do exist, but they're actually just powerful Fade spirits and aren't worthy of worship or anything like that.

It's a shame Solas doesn't reveal anything about the Vallaslin and the elven gods to any but a romanced elfy inky, woulda been nice if a high approval got the same, but I have also seen reasoning why only makes sense for a romanced inky.

The whole, elven gods just being powerful mages who enslaved the elves and their face markings being the slave markings. Coupled with when he goes to tell them the truth, it's about who he is/his plan and he chickens out on that

I believe they confirmed that that is exactly what happened.

I guess it's because he's been around for a very long time. It's less about trust, I think, and more about understanding, which for him would be more important.

I suppose that's true. There's still quite a bit of understanding that's been built up with a friendly Inky by that point, though.

Also, this seems as good a place as any to voice how irritating it is to me that Solavellan is so common among Dragon Age fans online. Fenedhis lasa, you can't throw a nug without hitting someone pining over Solas. It's not a healthy relationship, and he's much better as a friend.

Is Inquisition worth playing? I played and liked the first two, I remember trying Inquisition when it first came out, kind of remember it not looking or playing all that great, but I might have just been in one of those moods also.
