Last time we locked down we had shortages of goods in several industries, massive stimulus checks, and many things we are still recovering from even now. It would take the military enforcing quarantine zones at this point to limit the spread of the virus. But if anyone cared about saving lives it would be done. If anyone cared about saving lives they would have done the much simpler and less intrusive lockdowns right at the very start of the pandemic to prevent the spread back when there were a handful of cases
