I don't think BBT is amazingly written but it does have continuity, character arcs, some form of realism (or at least rules/limit to abusrdity) that makes the writing better than Community.

Community has better jokes but the writing is pretty bad.

That's why I reject "oh it's better written" as an excuse because it's really really not.

And it's popularity is not a mystery, people got attached to the characters because you could. You can't really get attached to the characters in community (I mean the general population by in large) because every episode was its own bubble and there was no arcs or emotional connections

Same reason Friends did so well. You can watch an episode of Friends and know what Season it is just from how characters act

TBBT isn't realistic. At all. Everyone is a complete stereotype, and it quickly turned from "aren't these nerds hilarious?" to "these nerds have lots of sex with women out of their league!!"

(or at least rules/limit to abusrdity)

There's no BBT episode about everyone joining a new dyspoian 5 ranked caste system based on an app where all society is turned on it's head

And then never mentioning it again

Because the writers would say "No that doesn't gel with the rest of the show" and reject it.

No one ever in Community rejected a joke or an idea because absolutely nothing in the show mattered or meant anything so there was no reason too.

Which means defacto bad writing. Even if brings some good jokes.

You could have made a Community Epsiode where everyone turns into horses and makes horse puns for 20 minutes before ending on a joke of the Dean raping an actual horse he mistook for Jeff after everyone reverted to being human and no one would have raised an eye

It just sounds like you're into Kiddy irreverent non sequitur humor with no character or nuance or continuity

Which is absolutely fine. But yeah that's never going to be mainstream or an example of good writing

There's a reason why Life of Brian was Monty Python's best work

Bruh, you are trying way to hard to validate the fact that people dont relate or connect to your type of personality >_>

Seems Life of Brian isnt funny for the reasons you think either lol

Face it bruh, what good is it being an intellectual if you have no charm, if youre this sour about it - people like random and non-sequitors cause it helps them express a side that isnt stock shit covered up behind supposed nuance

I'm haven't even made a comment about my personality

I just explained why one is successful than the other and any the notion that the much less popular one with no rules or continuity is better written doesn't hold water

They're both pretty badly written and I think Community loses points for laziness

I wouldn't even say that Abed is a beloved character, he's just a well-oiled one on a well-written shown. If anyone on Community is beloved it would be Troy.

Bubbles is the real real nerd role model imo.

Loves cats, has a small business, owns a home, model rocket and train enthusiast, and loyal to his friends
