Found out later that they had offers from rental agencies like 25-30% higher than asking price. Also, asking price on it's own right now is like 25% more than it was two years ago. The best way to get through is to refuse to work low paying jobs and not pay for their shit. There are thousands of people, myself included, boycotting stuff like restaurants until they pay a living wage. I seriously consider moving back in with my parents to save money because paying $1600/month to rent is wiping my finances out.
