I lost by bluffing with ace high on the flop and someone called me.

Lost $50 but it was my first experience playing live poker in a tournament.

It was fun as hell

The action was going so fast it was hard to keep up especially as the blinds were increasing I felt overwhelmed and nervous.

I had fun and enjoyed it though and I want to play again soon.

That's a cheap buyin and a good way to get a feel for tournament action. The nerves will go away the more you play

Yeah it was a satellite tournament and 1 in 8 advanced to a $350 buy in tourney.

I busted out too early I was playing conservative and then I decided to shove all in with ace high as a bluff and got called.

That's cool. I suck at poker. Fun though
Hell yeah.. I didnt care about the money I was more upset that I was over aggressive and made an all-in bluff even though I wasnt facing a bet and it was completely unnecessary for me to try and do that The goal of the tournament was just to survive because it was a satellite and I made a bad error.

What was your reasoning for doing so?

There was a queen on the board (flop) and I felt like if I shoved all in then I would steal the blinds because I would be representing a set or two pair

My opponent had KQ and hit a king on the turn to make it 2 pair against my ace high.

I felt like an idiot.

And it was a bad all-in Started the tournament with 10,000 chips and I had about 7,500 with the all in bet.

If I wanted to raise it should have been a smaller bet like 1,000 or 2,000 but not my whole stack to open raise all in.

Going all in to win blinds is insane. Over betting the pot like that pretty much never makes sense. There's very little to gain and if somebody does call you, you're out of the game. Plus, if you had a good hand you wouldn't do that because getting people to fold so soon isn't how to make money off of a good hand. You should have expected somebody at the table to think you had nothing.

Yeah it was moronic beyond belief of me to do that.

I usually bluff if I have a strong pair. But with a high card I run all day.

Indeed lol, lesson learned. Did he at least sweat a bit thinking you had a set or something?

Oh hell no He snap raised all in and it was heads up me and him. I flipped my A6 of clubs up with no possibility of back door straight or flush Only way i could win was to catch an ace and he ended up getting 2 pair on the turn. So I was drawing dead at that point.

My social strengths aren't in poker. But it can be fun if I don't have social anxiety that day. I think social anxiety could make you harder to read if it's a certain type lol. Cause your attention might be everywhete but your cards. You'd be too frantic to give consistent tells lol

I want to play again but the nearest casino is an hour away from me

I was looking at their tournament schedule and they have No Limit Hold Em tournaments every week I think.
