A vaccine has never had long term effects. Yeah, this vaccine could something special and randomly have side effects 15 years down the road, but by that logic, no one should ever trust modern medicine. How do you know a drug approved in 2010 won't kill you in 2050?

Oh, but that's a crazy hypocritical and totally different than your gut feeling which you know is right this time, maybe, you hope. What if I told you fully approved drugs get pulled off the market all the time?

different era, Trumpers didnt exist back then. Also that vaccine was able to eradicate the virus. The covid vaccine doest stop you from catching it or spreading it to others with 100% efficacy, it really only protects yourself

I see where you're coming from. I'm not personally in favor of outright cancelling student loans; but I also think the US takes it too far to the other extreme. New Zealand has a pretty good balance; the only thing I'd change is that the "one year free" should apply at the end of study rather than the start, so it only covers people who finish their study. In short - under NZ's system, eligibility is basically universal, there's no interest as long as you don't leave the country, and repayment obligations are tied to your income, right up to if you don't earn anything (or not much) you don't have to make any payments.

With that being said, I don't believe the two situations are the same. There is a lot more to lose from people holding out until the payments start in a future pandemic, if that precedent gets set. There's a lot less lost from people holding out on making their own student loan repayments, which really is something that only affects themselves no matter how deep they go.

I don't wanna get into an argument but that doesn't really help your case.

Saying fully approved drugs often fuck people up to where they have to pull them should just make people even more weary of something that isn't fully approved.

My point was he should shut the fuck or be literally scared of all drugs like a naturopath. No half measures.

People will trust the words of non-experts and untested treatments, or a proven deadly virus, and then freak out when a drug doesn't go through 27 years of trials and have 0 side effects.

That doesn't make sense fully approved drugs being recalled would make you weary of fully approved drugs. It more implies that full approval isn't magic or completely necessary.

Exactly. A lot of the time is pointless and only exists for drug companies to figure out how to extend their patents.
