Or even specific chairs? I'm in the market for one and don't mind paying more for quality. Looking for genuine leather, or at least something that doesn't use the type of faux leather that peels off.

The last chair I got had the surface peel off in a lot of spots, exposing some gray plush material underneath that left black stains on my shirts. The outer layer was really thin fake leather.

Herman Miller Aeron. I have one for my gaming setup and its worth every penny. Keep an eye out on Craigslist, they pop up frequently when places go out of business. Its not leather like you asked, but I figured it would be worth tossing out there.

Just try to handle this.

I would never buy a used office chair, no matter how good it is. You'll never remove the years of ass sweat that chair sustained. It might look new, but you'll always know some other dude sat in that chair for years doing who knows what.

Anyway people shit talk them all the time, but I've been a big fan of my dxracer. $270 and still looks brand new five years later.

Thanks, I'm not dead set on leather, just don't want something that will peel off and look terrible. I was also considering something with like a mesh back.

I'm looking myself, leaning on a Steelcase but I'm not a looking for leather...

I've had herman millers and they're nice, but I'm hard on chairs so looking more mid range.

I'll second the Herman Miller aeron chairs, if you can afford it:

But unlike what he said, I'd recommend getting a new one and customized to fit your body. Go to a local Herman Miller store and try it out.

Should Herman Miller chairs absolutely be customized? I'd probably just order online. Closest physical store to me is in LA which is like a bit over an hour's drive.
