My husband put in our application to a refinance yesterday. Suddenly Im being spammed by multiple lenders. Mostly calls but also some texts and emails. I have no idea where they got my info. We used the same lender we used when we first bought our home. Do they just sell off your information after? For some reason theyre calling me and not my husband when he is the one who did the application. Ive received 9 calls today alone. Im beyond annoyed.

Nice! Im expecting it will be a bit higher than that since its a refinance but I hope its less than 3.

When did the calls stop?

Shit after posting this I remembered my husband filled out those online applications too hoping to find a rate but I think it just sold off our info

Happened to me. I went and got preapproved for a mortgage and for literally 2 weeks straight, my mailbox got FLOODED with flyers with realtors asking to sell my home through them lol

I'm like "Did these motherfuckers sell my info or something lol" Thankfully it stopped after a few weeks >_>

Id say the calls and mail solicitations slow down 1-2 months after I close, at least in my past experience with various closings and refis.

I get emails and letters sometimes about refinancing but even when Ive actively refinanced I didnt get a lot of attention about it.

I just hate how every life insurance company comes out of the woodwork with the nice house, wanna make a bet you die unexpectedly? letters that you get for months afterwards.

IIRC this shit is public information so they probably just have people looking at court documents outside whatever bureau processes property taxes scraping for PI to spam.

Enjoy lol

Were doing a cash out refinance to tap into the equity of our house. The goal is to use the cash to buy another house and put this one up for rent. Weve done the math and with the lower interest rates, current rent prices, etc, this house will just pay for itself.

ya super smart tbh, I was just discussing that with a buddy. Its a good revenue stream for the work it entails. Best of luck hope it works out well!

About a week ago I made the mistake of putting my info on lendingtree.com. I get like half a dozen calls a day from rocket mortgage and other lenders showing up under my now blocked numbers. I assumed lendingtree was safe. I was wrong.
I think my husband did something similar though he says he doesnt remember using my phone number. Im even getting calls where they ask for him by name. A couple have flat out hung up on me when I answered. I think because they expect a man to answer. Its strange.

Thanks! My husband is very handy and will be able to fix things up for tenants. It just seems like a good market for it.
