Three die on the blackwater and he thinks of her often; she's at home in some out of the way small castle no one has bothered with yet, but considering he is now Lord of the Rainwood it's going to be a much bigger castle. There are a lot of characters that are good people. Hell, what's wrong with Jon Snow, they make him a white knight in the show. What's wrong with Sam Tarly? So hes not an absentee father in the show atleast...
