They spent months creating this problem of people not caring and not getting the vaccine, now theyre all in on people getting vaccinated and talking about how good and safe it is, and when their idiotic base finally does it and things get better theyll point to this and take credit for it.

and ultimately I cant even be mad because at least everyone will get vaccinated but its just so frustrating to see them constantly play this game and never get held accountable for it.

But it is.
But it isn't. The chances of a person dying form COVID who doesn't have multiple factors such as overweight, a smoker, obese, or old is less than 1%. These people don't care about COVID or getting a vaccine because they arent afraid. they don't care that they could spread it to people who are vulnerable, because they are selfish and evil

In what universe is 1% not an insanely high number for mortality via disease...

There's a point in that I know at least a handful of people that caught covid following little to no precautions, recovered quickly, and continued not to give a fuck because the societal risks are too abstract for them to care. So in a sense I get what he's saying.

Kushner intentionally sabotaged our response because he figured the disease would spread more around dense urban areas (read blue voters) than rural ones.

They are only changing their tune now because most of the vaccines are going to people who vote against republicans.

This is going to go down in history as a genocide.

1) just under 1% mortality is a devastating number for an infectious disease that has the potential to infect a billion or more people.

2) it doesn't just kill. It can hospitalize you and leave you with devastating long-term health consequences.

3) our hospitals don't need you morons overburdening them more than you already have

it isnt just under 1%. Without comorbidities, it is like .1% and even that data is biased because many people get sick and are never detected

stop being uneducated, and just look up the data yourself

the death rate in NY (Which was hit hard) was .65 %

I look at the data every day. The data pretty clearly indicates that this is the worst epidemic/pandemic in over a century and if not for vaccines we could very easily reach 10s of millions dead around the world.

Individual mortality isn't the only thing that makes an infectious disease dangerous, often times transmissibility is more important. Theres a reason why covid has killed 100x people than the last few major ebola outbreaks despite the fact that ebola is like 1000x deadlier than covid in terms of case-mortality ratios.

How many people need to die before it's "risky"? Do we need a bubonic plague level of mortality rate?

I didn't say it wasnt the worst pandemic. I said the mortality rate is low, especially for people without comorbidities. What makes COVID particularly special is ability to spread in asymptomatic people. This makes it important to get a vaccine to protect people who are vulnerable, but it doesnt cause fear. If people actually feared for their lives they would get the vaccine immediately.

Risk is a statistical analysis. Given a population of nearly 4 billion people, a large amount of people will die from a low risk disease

Death rate for rabies is 100% yet it's not even remotely a global health concern. There's more issues with COVID-19 than just the potential for an individual dying, even without co morbidities.

Exactly, and that's exactly the point. Rabies is lethal, but doesnt spread to humans easily due to beinh spread through saliva, and not respiratory. COVID Isn't very lethal, but its ability to spread and get into vulnerable individuals is terrifying. People who are not vulnerable don't care though, and don't care about others. They don't fear for their safety, and don't get a vaccine.

Here's some science and math: over 4 million people died due to COVID-19. Yet you claim it's not deadly.
