The only ones I'm interested in are FF1 for a modern port with the NES magic system and FF3 since the west never got an official 2D release. Overall the price they're asking for is ridiculous.

I think he just stopped being the "official" composer for the series, but he still does contract work for Square.For at least a little while he only worked with Mistwalker which was initially composed entirely of disgruntled square enix employees. He continued to get credit for songs that he wrote if they were reused which they basically always are so that's why he's still in the credits but for at least a few years he didn't have anything to do with Square Enix.
