I just got to the point that I can see the countdown before expulsion. Should I just explore social links until the last day?

iirc, you've got most of the month to focus on what you want, but you have to meet with your teammates before you can send the accusation thing before fighting the boss.

so you have plenty of time to explore social links, but it's also important to improve on your stats so that you can establish some social links/deepen your relationships with them.

I stopped about 40-60 hours in, and it was years ago, so my memory is hazy.

Check your calendar, that show's you the actual last day as there is one day lost in the process that the game explains badly.

You're usually gonna want to aim to get the Palace done at least a few days before the deadline, as sometimes for story reasons you need to do more than one trip.

You don't miss out on anything by doing the palaces early on, as if you do it before the deadline you still have that month to do all the social stuff.

always do the dungeon in 1 trip as possible, it gives you a lot of time to do everything else.

Try scheduling it on rainy days where the social links are fewest.

Generally I did the palaces ASAP unless there was a social link I wanted to level with linked availability. There are a couple you can get up only once or twice a week.

Rank the Death Confidant to around 5, then buy the SP Adhesive 3

It is game changing refreshing 7SP every time joker moves. Makes single day palace runs possible.

Don't worry about making yourself min/max on your first playthrough though, just play as you are comfortable. YouTube exists for a reason

Medical trials, ordering coffee, burger challenges, or from books in the school library - it will tell you what stat each book will increase.

I believe there are other ways as well, but these spring to mind straight away.

Different stats have different caps on them. You're likely to finish charm and proficiency first, while Guts and Kindness typically follow slowly.

You lose a LOT of evenings to Morgana gatekeeping you. I'm sure the game is balanced for you to have enough time to do most of the content if you spend time wisely, but having you spawn in leblanc just for your only choice be to go to bed is annoying.

yeah that's what happens when you go to the metaverse, since it gets you tired. Though a certain confidant's rank 10 ability mitigates that by allowing you to go out at night even after going to the metaverse

in the Royal edition Morgana forcing you to sleep was lessened quite a bit

The antagonist in the epilogue of Royal essentially shows the problems of the Phantom Thieves ideology taken to the extreme.
