I feel that canned laughter or "live audiences" are a form of mind control. You are not allowed to decide what is funny, the show does. That's why it laughs for you. Before you know it, you laugh every time the audience does.

It doesn't bother me. Sometimes the canned laughter happens for jokes that I didn't find funny. It doesn't compel me to laugh. But I get why they do it, if everyone is laughing, it makes it feel even more funny. It's why I love going to the movies for comedies. The crowd makes it even better.

Getting mad over laugh tracks is a very gen z thing. I don't even notice them most of the time, they've just been in so many shows over the decades.
