the plan is simple

1) Get a drivers license
2) Get high paying job
3) Get a car
4) Have my own place
5) Get rich fuck lots of people

Currently executing step 2, I have a job as a pharmacy assistant. Imma work myself up to pharmacy tech, then at that point I should be making ~$20 an hour. My goal is for this to happen before 2022

thoughts?

Now this, THIS is awesome
I did some brief research on what you said and it really looks like something Id enjoy, AND is realistic to achieve. Theres so many more jobs too, I checked!!

How did you learn about those certifications? Did you pay for a class or do it solo?

Yes I agree. My libido is way too high for the lack of bedroom activity in my life ._.

Ive heard this a few times.. that pharm tech is a brutal job. What makes it so much harder than normal retail? Like a cashier or something?

You can mostly just braindump the entire three tests.
You'll have to leverage your customer service experience and only go for intern IT support (do not go for an MSP or any external, like an ISP)

You pay to sit the exam only.

Security+ is optional but does get you into a cushy government job in the US

My plans foundering a bit right now: undergrad social work programs require work hours. These would normally be provided by a class conveniently not offered at community colleges. Goddamnit CT, arent you expensive enough?

So I couldnt get started on that as planned, and am now trying to get some sort of entry-level human service job, but thats not entirely easy either.

Oh, and I have this whole trans deal happening, of course. Time-and-energy-consuming; transition, but thats going well so far, at least.

Sorry I dont have much advice. Are you going to go through a driving school? Because the right driving instructor will help you out a lot.

Hmm, it does seem like Id have trouble initially getting a job. Ill do it. Why not, I have nothing to lose Im still doing the pharm tech thing

Because most likely they'll run you into the ground
imagine this scenario: the 'main' server has gone offline

Option A) it's a customer, get to the site and fix that and the CEO and his friends take all the credit
Option B) your (your company) sever is offline and you fix that and the CEO praises you in an email and you boss gives you a day off

Good plan, especially giving yourself credit for the first step! You could split step five into two as they aren't necessarily dependent on each other.

On a serious note, weren't you going into phlebotomy?

Its not, not really, but it looks like the best I can do while Im still in school. Ill get my associates soon, but its pretty much worthless. When I get my bachelors itll be another story, but until then, I want something to keep me afloat enough to not be worrying about money

Im sort of doing that now, Im almost halfway through my statistics/data science degree. I dont really have any skills yet though, and want something I can do to support myself while getting the masters

Its really insane how well computer science pays though. Absolutely insane, so congrats to you for really succeeding!!
How do you think you got lucky? What happened?

Wow, how long have you been looking for a job now? I cant imagine how frustrating it is to have the degree but still not be able to get into the industry. Something similar happened with my phlebotomy tech certification, but that was a month long class not a college degree >.>

Has your transition been helping a little in a ways, as you get farther along? At least in terms of morale and self confidence

I paid for private lessons, and I actually got my license in the mail last week ^^

Thanks! The picture on the license is the first photo taken that Ive ever liked too lol. Also which part should go first you think, for 5?

Yes. However, its been over a month and still nothing. Ive been applying to at minimum a job a day, whether online or in person. Nothing but rejections. Its honestly very demoralizing, but I have to do something to get my income up. Ill keep applying. I think its due to my lack of experience in healthcare, at all.

This seems more logical.

1) Date a rich guy
2) Get your license
3) Get a car
4) Move in with rich guy
5) Get high paying job

I think TC wants her freedom. Being tethered to a rich guy would likely cramp her style.

Being envious of others at 22 is understandable... hope this helps, I only got my bachelor's at 27 after many stops, starts, and failures despite being high school valedictorian.. life definitely takes unpredictable turns as it took a while but I feel I'm in a really good spot now (life and career wise).

You're definitely in the minority liking your DL picture, that's serendipitous for the year ahead! Sorry you've been hitting the rejection wall especially with a certification..you've been through a lot, I'm sure you'll weather this. It may be awkward but don't hesitate to lean into people you know in the medical field (or even lab/science field). I know it kept feeling like nepotism but it's not - it's using assets you have (being sociable) to compensate for others areas you may be lacking.

(Hope that all made sense, past 1 here)

You could also try to leverage your experience in the college you worked at to get a job doing IT for education
it's not that bad
though the pay is terrible but paid off by the idea of the fact you don't actually have to be on call
Also never do IT in a college
