Personally, I give it to the female City Elf. Cutting through a bunch of rapists and murderers while still in your wedding dress is a hell of a way to make your entrance onto the scene.

I'm a big fanboy of the Dalish, but their origin was sadly pretty lackluster in DAO. It was just kinda dull, and I'm pretty sure it's also the shortest.

Dalish and Human Noble are the worst to me. Mage was neat for sorta tying into what's gonna happen there during the main game but the actual gameplay portion was kinda meh. City Elf I have no real complaints about, but the Dwarf one's are probably my favorite? Dwarf Noble has you pretty closely related to the Dwarf part of the main plot, and I do like that part of the game a lot.

Human Noble feels a little too much like a standard tragic backstory to me, but I do really like how it colors Howe as something more than just a generic bad guy to bowl over on your way to Loghain. Everybody loves a revenge story.

I think I've only ever played a Dwarf origin once, so I really can't comment on them. I know they get a lot of praise in the community, but I just never really cared much for dwarves.

There's a mod to let you play a Dalish mage. It works pretty well, I think. Characters recognize you as either Dalish or a mage when it's appropriate.

City Elf is the most bad ass origin IMO. From rags to mf riches.

its definitely worth playing the PC version. Pick whichever origin sounds interesting to you. Worst case, the origins only last about an hour or so, so you could try them out

If you can only do one playthrough, I think Human Noble would be the best, because you can do something at the end of the game that no other origin can

I love the Dwarf Noble & it's mechanically the best one since it makes you richer than all the others by a lot, but...

City Elf is my favorite too. The Female City Elf was my first character & I'm a big enough nerd that I had her wear her wedding ring throughout the entire game.

Yeah, what's up with that? The Dwarf Noble can end the origin with like 30 sovereigns, which none of the others come even remotely close to.
