Yeah. The original one of the PS1. There are a few people that enjoy FFT:A, which is on the GBA, and I can't say I hated it. But yeah

I think you can get FFT on your iPad now, if you wanted to try it out. Also, if you have a Switch, Project Triangle as a free Demo and that seems kind of like trying sneaking in FFT2 since the real name of the game is a secret

Thats actually the definitive version. They upgraded the graphics and the load times are much improved.

The original ps1 translation is one of the worst translated games Ive ever played. It gives 3 different names to the same thing sometimes.

FFT's jobs always bugged me. Many of them have an almost entirely useless skill set overloaded with abilities that you will never ever use.

Yep, I've done Cloud as well.

I've tried a few Monster Solo runs, but can't do it thanks to the Status Effects by the Zodiac Monsters. The same reason why Solo Mime is un-doable.

Only if you use the Sprite, I think. It's the same thing with Elmdor. When I first did it I used his Sprite, but once you get to the fight where you have to open up the flood gates, you're unable to do it because the Sprite will not trigger the tile when you stand on it.

So I had to switch the Sprite back to Ramza

With that said, their Hand Skills don't work either, I don't think.

S - TG Cid, Balthier, Beowulf, Luso, Agrias, Dark Knight, Calc, Meliadoul, Reis
A - Monk, Ninja, Wizard, Knight (wtf), Geomancer, Chemist, Samurai, Time Mage
B - Lancer, Summoner, Mustadio, Rafa, Squire, Oracle, Priest
C - Archer, Cloud, Mediator, Mime, Thief, Bard, Onion Knight, Dancer, Malak

It's more right than wrong, but there's a lot of wrong. And only using 4 tiers is a total copout.

Monk, Wizard, and Chemist I'd put at B. Knight is absolutely C. Summoner is an A. Mediator should be B.

Yeah, I agree. And even though someone like Meliadoul is great, they come way too late to rank in the S-tier, imo. Especially when you already had a unit that does everything she does, but better, and with even more options.

Dancer and Mime are better than C. No way Archer should be at the top of C. Maybe the top of D, lol

Agrias is a better "second Orlandu" than Meliadoul will ever be, even on PSP where Meli isn't completely useless in random battles. If you need a "third Orlandu" for some reason, just train Short Charge on Cloud - or just use Beowulf.

It's based off the PSP version, which I've never played through fully. I think Meliadoul got coded to actually work vs zodiacs and monsters, and Malak (and maybe Rafa) got bumped up to 10 hits of their special skills to make up for their randomness. Dunno what Luso or Balthier do, but its hard to trump Orly, Agrias, and Calc because instant, ranged, multitarget one shots should be an exclusive rung.

I dont consider SCC to be the best way to analyze. The reality is jobs get unlocked by other jobs, combine with others, and there is plenty of competition for a slot in battle.

Rafamalak at any tier higher than bottom = nope. Any magic job is superior if you need a mage base.

Clod doesnt need a single thing more than Finish Touch (100% petrify) to be pretty awesome. His worst bit is starting at level 1. But he also comes super duper late.

Do they allow Melias attacks to hurt monsters now? They are still single panel and boring. Maybe if they were changed to disarm (you can get the item) she'd be worth it but there are too many special knights to bother.

You have to have it to make his Limits work. And to make his Limits actually worth it, you have to take him up the Time Mage to get Short Charge, which doesn't really help Cloud at all. Huge missed opportunity, imo
