Current Events > KFC chicken sandwich is garbage.

I've had it twice.

First time, the very first bite I had was just...it felt like trying to chew on extremely overcooked steak. The meat was dark meat but it had the consistency of rubber.

Didn't try it again until months later.

Second time, I was thinking 'oh, must have been a bad sandwich last time'. First few bites? Not bad! Quite tasty in fact. Then another piece of rubber in my sandwich. Fucking dreadful.

Do people actually enjoy this garbage?

I used to enjoy it, but that was over 20 years ago. They have gone downhill since the late 90s. They used to be amazing, but nowadays what with the internet available, there are ways to create much better chicken using better spice mixtures and ingredients.

It's like they took all the worst parts of the chicken and grinded them up, covered them in batter or whatever, then served it up.

Popeyes has the better chicken sandwich but their mashed potatoes are garbage, their fries are bland and boring, and their food tastes like grease unless you drench it in sauces/gravy.

The only good thing about KFC was the potato wedges, but they discontinued them now in favor of seasoned fries as a way to compete with Popeye's, and like everything else on their menu, it's absolutely inferior to Popeye's.

I'd rank the Chicken Sandwiches:

Burger King > Popeyes > KFC > McDonalds.

Yes, BK has the better of the bunch. Only thing holding it back is the price. its like almost 6 bucks while the others are around 3. That said all 4 are pretty good. I wouldn't call any one of them bad tbh.

To return the favor I had the Burger King Chicking and it honestly tasted rancid imo. I ordered both a spicy and original, and both had the same rancid flavor. Other's experiences may vary, but my experience was it was terrible imo.

All Popeyes does is remind me that mom and pop stores are WAY better. That's living in Louisiana. I know of better places with dirty rice..and their dirty rice is so dry and bleh.

Their mashed potatoes are good. I like KFC's chicken more than Popeyes...but I like grease, so...

close... the best chicken sandwich at least for me is the Wendys Spicy Chicken sandwich, shortly followed by the Spicy Big Mary from Mary Browns, a Canadian chicken chain. Their potato wedges are to die for.

Fuck now I'm reminded how KFC used to have potato wedges.

God damnit.

Its texture is a lot more consistent than most chicken restaurants out there. A lot are far more disproportionately "gross" for lack of better words with respect to this.
