Yeah true, maybe they thought the artificial waterfall downstairs was enough, but honestly there were dumber stuff, like not hearing heartbeats.

Honestly though, ever since COVID dropped I've been willing to accept illogical actions as part of the movie. Real life has proven... dumber.

the waterfall point keeps being brought up but you're not really going to teach your (dumb)kids to know how to be dead silent when out scavenging when they're free to make as much noise as possible when at home.
