Every now and again I go to my local chicken shop to get a chicken wrap they make - because even though the chicken is deep fried and seasoned to hell and back, it's probably the most well-made and nutritionally substantial fast food item in town aside from Subway - and I see copes of these two magazines, Woman's Day and New Idea, on the sales rack. And it's always this stupid bullshit about Kate's hidden aggressive messages to Meghan Markle, with the publication siding with this perceived display and thus the perceived message.

And it's like, Prince Harry left the Royal Family like a year or two ago now. He's married, he has a kid and probably another one on the way, and while he clearly bears no ill will towards his brother and seems decent enough about the whole ordeal, he dipped because the well-being of his partner and their child is more important than whatever politics were being played behind the scenes. That's the way the cookie crumbled, it's over, no-one in their right mind gives a flying fuck - and nor should they.

But to this day, you have these tabloid rags that aren't even fit to wipe your ass with talking about hidden messages and this supposed Kate Middleton/Meghan Markle feud because they're the latest additions to the Royal Family, and Kate was beloved by all and Meghan faced all sorts of dogshit from the day she married into the family. They're the new hotness, because their inductions into the family are the most significant events for the Royal Family since Princess Di died, and the two things that sell this hot trash are recognition and hate.

It's just so frustrating because I'm sure that both Meghan and Kate have little to no concern with each other, and barely any animosity or serious conflict between them. Not to the degree that a bunch of paparazzi fucks and fart-huffing "royal insiders" can decode century-old coded royal messaging in Kate's body actions and clothing to interpret a defiant and bold stance against Homewrecker Meghan Markle, Who Can And Should Feel Bad.

Like fuck dude, I'm just waiting to pick up my chicken wrap. I don't need to be reminded that there are people on Earth who put themselves through media studies and/or journalism courses in university just so they can write this imaginary feud between two fabulously wealthy women who both married for love and whose most stark difference is in the support they got from the Royal Family and these shit-kicker tabloids. I don't need to be reminded that there are people who make a living scraping the bottom of the barrel like the scum-sucking parasites they are.

It's like, no wonder people narrow their worldview and become closed off and insular, ignoring everything they can't stomach about the world around them. But then you realise that it's the people who do that who are the most likely to fall into this brand of pointless media fanaticism and alarmist, pointed rhetoric. They slurp up this watered down horse cum that Rupert Murdoch and other paper-waster tabloid magnates feel like ladling out to the masses specifically because they threw away their ability and desire to take in new information about the world, they lost their desire to ask questions and think for themselves because they were confronted with so much of this horseshit that it burned them out. And then once they leave their brain marinating in the sun for 30 years, the same garbage that drove them inwards to begin with is the only media they're capable of digesting.

Tabloids are fucking evil. Even if you dismiss the last third of my deranged manifesto there, the falsehoods they spread and the wedges they drive between people are intentionally divisive for the sake of profit. They'd mow an old lady down in the street for a picture of a frowning celebrity, and the cynical, defeatist people we've become would let them do it, because we'd rather let this narcissism and greed run its course and destroy everything we ever loved than be admonished for getting in the way.
