I like to recommend "Voices from a Distant Star" It is only half an hour long so it's easy to watch. Story is there is a war deep in space against aliens. A high school girl is recruited for the war and her male friend stays on earth. She sends messages to him but the further out she goes they take longer to arrive. But she doesn't age like him because of space time dilation.
