They are advances on the tax credit you can claim for your children on your return. Half of that tax credit will be distributed over the next several months automatically starting July 15th. I believe it works out to 250 or 300 per child a month based on the childs age.

Not sure, I assumed it was DD but the IRS specified joint returns (which is how we file). So was wondering f thats the case. But then again I havent checked myself.
